Day 3 of Our Trip to DC!!!!

So before I share about our trip, I have to show you a video of the cutest boy in the world..

Leo has learned to feed himself...I bought him this spill proof snack bowl. Everytime he puts his hand in he makes the cutest face. I'm not sure why the sound doesn't work......

So yesterday morning was graduation.....we left here at 7:15.....ALL 11 of us!!!! I was amazed!
Graduation was about an hour long. Leo made it through most of it. He really like the Band and the marching. I forgot my camera, so no pictures of graduation.

After lunch we went into DC.....

We rode on our first metro............

We were suppose to ride the same metro all the way into DC to the Smithsonians, but Trey, Josh, Thuyvi, Leo and I got bored and decided we would take a short cut that required switching metros twice. So we all 5 got off and went on our adventure, and left everyone else behind. Just for the record....it would have been a shortcut if we hadn't missed one of the metros!!!!! Here are some pictures of our adventure......

This is us making the first switch .....

This metro was alot more crowded..Leo hung on to the pole..

This is Josh and Trey figuring out we should have gotten on the metro that just shut its doors.....

WE MADE IT!!!!!!

Our first stop was the Air Musem...Leo slept throught the whole thing, but here he is by some airplane........

Next stop was the Native American Musem...It was very interesting, I was so amazed by everything, I forgot to take pictures, but here we are infront of it!!!

Here is the capital building......

Our next musem was the Natural History Musem.
Leo LOVED this one........

This was the dino exhibits.......

I think Leo thought he was apart of this exhibit.

He is feeling some kind of teeth......

Here is the happy boy waiting for us to decide what is next.....

Back on the metro for dinner.....

This is when everything went wrong, and all you could do is laugh. We got off the metro a a place called Crystal Springs for dinner...We thought (and were told) there was not much walking. Well we got off and kept walking and walking and walking trying to find somewhere to eat. We finally got to some buffalo place and the wait was 45 minutes. Finally we got in and ate at 8:00.....way past my dinner time!!!

.....of course Daddy is entertaining Leo.....

After dinner we started back for the long way back to the metro. We ran into this guy that lived there and said just go around this corner and there is another metro station. So we did, and there was no metro station. so we started walking again, and walking, and walking. We finally got back and rode the metro the rest of the way back to the parking garage. We got everything in the car and were ready to go. There was another problem the garage is closed, apparently you need a smart pass to get out after hours. It took us 20 minutes to figure out how to get out of the parking gargage.......by the time we were out Leo had crashed for the night. THANKFULLY!!!!

We will let you know how today...the 4th goes......

We're HERE!!

Today was our first full day here in the Washington DC/Quantico, VA area. We are here for Trey's brother's graduation from OCS (Officer Candidate School). We're staying in Quantico, VA. It took us 11 hours to get here yesterday. We left Mt. Juliet at about 8:00 and got here about 7:15. Leo did WONDERFUL!! I couldn't have asked for a better baby! Except for that one time when we stopped for a restroom break and as soon as we got back on the interstate, he decided to make us a present. We had to pull off at the NEAREST rest area to take care of that wonderful gift! He slept well last night, he woke up at 4 and got in bed with Trey and I and slept until about 7:30.

This morning we hung around the hotel and let Leo take it easy.......Here is a picture of my sleeping boys.....

Leo and Trey wore matching outfits today....they were too cute...........

We grabbed lunch at Panera, on our way to Family Day at the base.

Family Day consisted of an hour and a half introduction and explanation of the program, which Leo did not make it through. After getting his hand stuck between two chairs and a whole swarm of people pulling the chairs apart to free his hand, I decided it was time to walk outside. Needless to say he was worn out....

We finally got to get Uncle Josh and go eat......YEAH!

After dinner Uncle Josh had to go back for one more night. Trey, Leo and I got dropped off at the hotel while everyone else took Josh back to base. After a much needed nap for all 3 of us, Trey and Leo went swimming.

Tomorrow is graduation and then Washington...we will let you know how that goes......

Leo is 5 months!!!!!

Leo is now 5 months old!!! When I brought him home from the hospital, I never thought I would make it this far! Trey and I knew our lives would be different, but it is still so weird to think we are parents. We have learned so much in the past 5 months!! We have been through two colds and one long week of a stomach bug, (of which he gave EVERYONE in the family, and he did not leave out his Grammy and Pops in Memphis!) I now know the recipe of the miracle diaper rash cream.....it cleared his bottom up so fast and he was so much happier!!!

Leo has started eatting baby food...is favorite is squash (he didn't get his taste buds from his momma.)As of now he eats green peas, green beans, and squash. He did not like sweet potatoes and carrots did not agree with his stomach....so we will be trying those again soon. Everyone warned me that feeding him would be a huge mess.....will Leo doesn't let much come back out of his mouth! He is a very clean eater.

Most of the time he is sleeping though the night, but occasionally he wakes up around 1 or 2 in the morning, usually nights we really need the sleep. Trey is a wonderful daddy, and gets up with him probably more than I do. He says he would rather me get the sleep so I'm not grouchy!! We usually put him to bed around 9 or 9:30 and Trey or I wake him up around 5:30. On weekends he usually sleeps in til 6:00...(which until recently I did not consider sleeping in).

He is growing up sooo fast. He grows out of socks and diapers every other week (by the way he is in a size 3 huggies and eats similic advance formula:).

He has started rolling over and is trying his best to scoot. He is starting to sit up by his self for like 2 seconds. His favorite thing to do is play with his dogs Kat and Chloe and his kitty cat Lavern. They love him. He loves to pet Lavern and she curls up beside him. Chloe loves to lick him, and he likes to ride on her. Kat is still unsure about playing with him, but she is very protective and is always right by me when he is crying or guards him while he takes naps. She lays next to where ever he naps and growls when they Chloe or Lavern get to close. She will often sniff him, like she is checking for him breathing. If only she could give him a bottle and change his diapers she would be a great babysitter!!!

Trey and Leo will chase the girls around the house, Leo thinks that is funniest thing. He also likes folding clothes and vaccuming. He is amazed by the TV....we are wearing out our baby einstein dvds and I've never watched ESPN so much in my life!!!
Leo loves bathtime.....and of course Kat, Chloe, and Lavern have to help out everynight!! This is his new bathrobe and houseshoes from Aunt JoAnn....

Weekend at Grammy's and Pop's.....
Valentine's Day - Mommy's Valentine!!!

Shopping with Daddy...

Poppa bought Leo a car.....

The blog we never posted!!!

I found the time to write it, but for some reason never posted it...go figure!!!!

We took Leo to get his 4 month shots. He got 4 shots, 2 in each leg and an oral vaccine. We had a new nurse this time, and she gave each shot indiviaully, he screamed and cried a lot longer this time!!! Everything looked good, the doctor said his deformed toe would always be crooked, but he would walk fine. He weighed 17 lbs. and 4 oz. and he was 25 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile!

Leo had his first bite of rice cereal!! He wasn't sure what to do with it, but he finally got the hang of swallowing. He tried carrots a couple of nights later and loved them!!! The day after Leo ate his carrots, he got his first stomach bug. He was sick all last week, so we had to stop with the solid foods. He passed the bug on to everyone else in the family, and is finally getting better!
